Hemp CBG Feminised is a specially developed type of cannabis plant that produces very high levels of the cannabinoid CBG (cannabigerol). CBG is the non-acidic form of cannabigerolic acid (CBG-A) which is found in the living cannabis plants. It is the essential pre-cursor for the production of THC-A, CBD-A and CBC-A. In the vast majority of cannabis varieties this cannabinoid is preserved at very low levels.
UV light or heat causes enzymes in the cannabis plant to break CBG-A down and subsequently to convert it into either THCA and CBDA in the vast majority of cannabis plants. Therefore the higher the CBG the lower the THC and CBD levels and vice versa.
CBG is believed to offer important potential medical benefits. It is known to lower pressure within the eye and can help treat glaucoma. Early research indicates promise as an anti-bacterial. CBG inhibits colo-rectal cancer cells in mice, protects neurons in mice with Huntingdon's Disease and it also increases appetite in rats. Another property is the reduction of inflammation in cases of Crohn's Disease.
Hemp CBG can be cultivated in all environments, indoors, outdoors as well as in a greenhouse. Indoor flowering times are between 10 - 12 weeks with expected yields of between 400 - 500 gr/m2. Outdoors in the northern hemisphere harvest time will be towards the end of September - early October, each plant capable of producing as much as 350 gr. Some plants display purple colours towards the end of flowering, especially where night-time temperatures are markedly cooler. The taste is tangy, from concentrations of limonene, and with berry notes.
N.B. It is very important to germinate Hemp CBG seeds at a constant temperature of 80° Fahrenheit (26-27° Celsius) for optimum viability. Avoid temperature swings and fluctuations.
CBG levels are 16.9% while THC is very low at 0.25%.
